After his sister is murdered at a women’s retreat house, Robert seeks to validate a life of failure by investigating the possible motive. In so doing, attention to drawn to his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Johnson, whose personal and professional failings have sent him on a voyage of self-discovery under the aggressive tutelage of his Afro-Caribbean mistress, Camilla, whose mystical philosophy and sexual method put the zealous capitalist on a path towards left-wing extremism and violence. Arriving at a right-wing convention things are not as he imagined them to be.
